Great Time Piece, Great Amazon Price July 11, 2010 Eduardo Talavera (Tegucigalpa, FM Honduras) I'va been an Amazon Customer a way back, and it has always made my comebacks enjoyable, becuase a lot of times, I find great deals like this Promaster SST.
It is big, I don't consider it heavy or burdersome. Once on my wrist, I don't wan't to take it off.
And that red backlight at night is a definite eye catcher.
Keep it up Amazon, great Products, Always Great PRices..............
Cool Watch and a Delight to Wear May 26, 2010 Sourav Bhar (Denver, CO) I must say before buying this, i was tracking this watch for over a year. Finally, i bought it and after wearing it i loved it. For some people it may look huge and heavy (it is heavy)...but the looks are soo cool and classy, you can easily forget that. Its worth the money you spend. It as all major world cities names and their time-zone settings. Alarm tone is not too loud, but OK. The back-light is RED and it looks amazing at night. The radium light of the minute-hour hands has a low life, in other words it glows less with respect to the amount of time you be there in the sun/light.All in All its a gr8 watch and it gives correct time too..... ;-)
Steal of A Deal On A Great Watch - Superior Build Quality March 18, 2010 SafetyFirst (Missouri) Got this great watch on clearance at JCP for $251.
All the functions work seamlessly and was able to figure all the settings without even opening the instruction manual.
As I have owned the Skyhawk A-T previously, the bracelet quality and overall build quality of this example appears to be much higher quality and the bracelet is much more substantial as is the case. Yes, you give up Atomic time receipt with this watch, but the dial layout, again in my opinion,, is more interesting and easier to read. The red back light, which can be auto on/off, is very easy to use in the dark when in timekeeping or date mode.
Thpp. The Time Dial Moves without Your Knowledge!! - very annoying - but hey it looks great! January 31, 2010 Jack Joseph Mari Surrette (Hudson Valley, NY) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The watch Looks Great.
It has lots of features i really like - 'it' knows how many days are in 'this' month - including leap year - so no more wondering what the date is, is this date right, etc.
BUT!
This is first and foremost a Watch to tell TIME, right?
well... there in lies the problem.
When i wear a jacket.. long sleeve shirt.. or just move in some way I'm not aware of - The Dial Moves.
It moves to Alarm Mode most often... meaning it shows the wrong time when I glance at it, being that it's showing the alarm time..
or perhaps it's turned to it's Multi-Region Mode... for me that'd be England Time, a several hours difference than NY Time obviously - or else it's turned it's self to the Stop Watch Mode.. and I see the small hand just spinning and faster-spinning second hand.
all the Great and Fabulous Optional Modes to this Watch - which the watch it's self holds up very well as a whole - very little scratches and none on the face of it.
But this thing with the moving-dial!
even without a jacket - i twist my arm in some unknown way - i look down and the watch arms are moving into some other mode.
i can't just look at the watch and KNOW that the time i am seeing is indeed The Correct Time. and THAT guys is the entire point of a watch, right? I mean we want it to look good. have cool functions.
but if it isn't telling the time! it isn't really a watch now is it!\
and you know, i did read one guy who mentioned this same exact problem! He warned all who read his review about this issue. But no one else did so i was hoping it was just a problem with his.
nope.
the dial on the watch turns at the slightest pressure.
so though it might look nice sitting on my arm...
the fact that it's always a mystery if the time I'm seeing is truly the time - I've had to put it in a drawer and take out my old Invitica watch.
I decided to wear it on special occasions and when i can afford to double check the time with my cell phone - hey it wasn't cheap!
i gotta get SOME use out of this thing.
But if you have NOT bought this watch yet - be smart and click to another one.
Invitica's are great - except for the ones with dials that poke out SO MUCH they make sores on your wrist. (HA!) I know, almost a joke - and if money weren't involved I might be laughing.
- Jack
